A tag is basically a keyword that is added to a piece of
content to allow people to know more about that content.
You can find an overview of tagging in a 3-minute video
here (the transcript of that video is here).  Tagging has
been popularized most recently by the evolving
methodology -- known as
folksonomy -- being used to
categorize information on the web.

This web site represents an experiment of sorts (you might
expect that, coming from a
statistician).  Rather than tag
select content on the web, I'm attempting to tag the content
of my
life -- especially my professional life.

Most readers know that information regarding one's
professional life is typically conveyed via a
resume or
curriculum vitae (CV).  My goal with this web site is to give
readers some sense of what I've done professionally,
and
of who I am personally, via use of tags.

The column at left labeled "tags" contains keywords I have
selected which, IMHO, best represent the human being
named Curt Wehrley.  There are certainly other keywords
which could be applied to me, but I've chosen to limit the
number of keywords for
the sake of simplicity.  I may,
however, add new keywords in the future as my life
continues to unfold.
